From iced latte to sangria, here are three good reasons to drink more of this versatile home-grown tea

Iced rooibos latte

Serves 2

Ingredients
2 rooibos teabags
2 tsp honey
1 tsp chai latte powder
1 cup ice
2 cups milk
1 tsp cinnamon

Method
1. Soak the teabags in  cup boiling water. Allow to cool, then discard the teabags.
2. Mix the cooled tea, honey and chai latte powder. Pour into 2 tall glasses.
3. Add the ice, then top up the glasses with milk. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Rooibos sangria

Serves 6

Ingredients
2 rooibos teabags
1 bottle white wine
1 cup mango juice
1 lime, juice
lemon, juice
cup orange liqueur
2–4 tbsp honey (to taste)
Ice, to serve
Orange slices, to garnish
Apple slices, to garnish
Mint, to garnish

Method
1. Soak the teabags in  cup boiling water. Allow to cool, then discard the teabags.
2. In a pitcher, mix the cooled tea, wine, fruit juices and orange liqueur. Add honey to taste.
3. Serve in glasses with ice. Garnish with orange slices, apple slices and mint.

Red espresso cocktail

Serves 2

Ingredients
3 cups ice
400 ml apple juice
2 shots red espresso, cooled
2 shots vodka or gin
Apple cubes, to garnish
Rose petals, to garnish

Method
1. Place ice, apple juice, red espresso and vodka or gin in a blender. Blitz until the ice is completely crushed.
2. Pour into two glasses and garnish with apple cubes and rose petals.
