Begin your dining experience with a flute of premium bubbly at the Perrier-Jouët Champagne bar and garden. This exclusive spot is one of only three of its kind in the country, making it a sought-after venue for classy sundowners. The Perrier-Jouët brand features a distinctive green, white and gold botanical design on all of its labels: Picture a space that’s tastefully decorated to mimic this signature style.
In Level Four’s main space, red and gold interiors make an enticing treat for diners before they’ve sampled a morsel of the eatery’s delectable offerings. The contemporary furnishings include dining chairs covered in houndstooth fabric. Echoing the black-and-white theme is the chequered floor, which stretches out to meet the arched doorways leading on to the restaurant’s inviting terrace.
Cue the classics
The team at Level Four turns up the heat on classic haute cuisine with a contemporary twist, under the supervisionof Executive Chef Matthew Foxon. Expect his bold signature style and distinctive flair on every plate. Meat lovers will enjoy tucking into dukkha-spiced ostrich fillet with sautéed spinach, tenderstem broccoli and salt-baked pumpkin. For seafood flavours, go for the grilled yellowfin tuna accompanied by capers, artichokes and squid.
Porcini and cauliflower risotto with truffle croquette and crispy onion will please vegetarians. And the extensive list of sides and sauces will keep discerning diners of all tastes satisfied. To finish off the meal on a sweet note, take your pick from the dessert menu. The chocolate bar, pumpkin mousse, carrot marmalade, salty caramel, cranberry, pumpkin & bourbon sorbet is highly recommended.
Tea for two
We have no doubt that Queen Elizabeth herself would approve of tea at Level Four. Sample a selection of brews, including Jasmine Pearls (Chinese green tea with jasmine blossoms), French Earl Grey (the classic infused with citrus fruits and French blue cornflowers) and 1837 White Tea (think notes of fruit and flowers). And, of course, what would afternoon tea be without the sweet and savoury treats? Whether you choose the Traditional or Royal option, you can look forward to classic sandwiches, scones with cream and preserves, and a selection of pastries.
